  • Seven Year Mental Health Report

23 October 2019

Mission Australia releases a new joint mental health report in collaboration with the Black Dog Institute. Can we talk? Seven year youth mental health report - 2012-2018 tracks Mission Australia’s Youth Survey findings of psychological distress experienced by young people aged 15-19 from 2012 – 2018.
In 2018, one in four young people met the criteria for experiencing psychological distress – a 5.5% increase since 2012.

The report further examines the concerns, general wellbeing and help-seeking behaviours of the close to 27,000 participants, including those who are experiencing psychological distress, and makes policy recommendations to address the growing mental health concerns of young people.

  • Mental Health First Aid

13 October 2019

Physical first aid is accepted and widespread in our community, however most do not cover mental health problems. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches people the skills to help someone who they're concerned about. Our NT COGSO Darwin Region Representative and MHFA Trainer, Noelene Armstrong, spoke on ABC Radio about the importance of Mental Health First Aid training.

  • School Based Policing Model

13 August 2018

We have been co-designing a School Based Policing model with NT Assistant Police Commissioner Michael Murphy. It is a pleasure to partner and collaborate together to develop solutions. When families, schools and police work together, our communities are stronger.
