In our last newsletter, we shared our advocacy on continuing the push for equal access to menstrual health education, we'd like to publicise some resources available from 'Share the Dignity'.
On Saturday, the NTCOGSO Committee met for their quarterly September meeting. Rochelle Courtenay, Share the Dignity's Advocacy Specialist, joined online to share ways in which their foundation can support equity for students and families throughout the Territory. The ultimate aim is to increase school attendance for students who menstruate, and improve their overall quality of life.
The Dignity Vending Machine is a world-first innovation that dispenses a free period pack containing six tampons and two pads at the push of a button. Since installing the first machine in December 2016, the foundation have installed hundreds of Dignity Vending Machines Australia-wide, including in low socioeconomic schools.
Remember, school budgets must be spent on this year’s students or committed for future years. As unallocated funds won’t roll over, you may wish to invest in a Dignity Vending Machine to support student wellbeing.
Schools can get in touch with Share the Dignity here to find out more about procuring a vending machine.
