The NT Government has announced a new purpose-built Secondary Special Education School in Palmerston, scheduled to open in Term 1, 2029. The school will support up to 200 students, ease pressure on existing special education centres, and promote inclusion by being located next to Rosebery Year 7–12, with consultation to begin soon with families, students, and the local community.
We warmly welcome this announcement as the result of years of advocacy by Palmerston College and NTCOGSO – a true milestone where persistence has paid off.
