We advocate to ensure every child has access to quality, inclusive education.

Our work focuses on funding, policy, governance, wellbeing, and equity - representing the interests of families to government.

Want to discuss your advocacy options?

As an affiliated member, you have the following avenues for advocacy open to you:

1. Access to expert staff who provide advice to affiliates and individual members.

2. Raise your concerns with your regional representative
Once you have notified your representative of your situation, they will be able to refer the matter to the Executive Committee for action. We encourage our affiliates to contact their regional representatives to discuss any queries, concerns, or advocacy opportunities.

3. Submit a Motion for Annual Full Council Conference
NTCOGSO Annual Full Council is the forum where affiliates have the opportunity to propose motions seeking information or action from the Minister for Education, Chief Executive of Education or other government authorities.

This is an important opportunity for School Bodies to have their voices heard and to make an impact on the direction of public education in the Northern Territory.

Please contact your regional representative or the NTCOGSO office should you require any advice or assistance with preparing your motion. They are experienced in offering helpful suggestions about support arguments, additional sources of information and wording of motions.

4. Individual Parent Concerns

Please see the Department of Education and Training's 'Education and learning complaints' page if your concerns are individual in nature.

Our advocacy is affiliate-based and reflects the concerns, passions, and needs of our members.
