A few weeks ago, we shared an article spotlighting the fantastic work happening at Nightcliff Middle School to embed movement and physical literacy across the whole school day. Since then, lead teacher Lisa Svara has been approached to share her approach and support others looking to boost movement and physical literacy in their schools - a great sign of growing momentum across the NT.
Nightcliff Middle School were recently named the Secondary School winners of the AIA Healthiest Schools Australia award. Lisa, on behalf of NMS, was invited to attend the Regional Awards Ceremony in Da Nang, Vietnam, in early July. While they didn’t take out the regional win, their national award, recognition and representation was a proud achievement!
At NTCOGSO, we believe physical literacy is an important part of every child’s education - supporting engagement, mental health and student wellbeing across all learning areas.
