Nganambala School has long awaited the arrival of their first ever playground, and after years of advocating and persistence, the project has finally become a reality!

Since attending the 2022 NTCOGSO AGM and Full Council meeting, the Nganambala School Council has been actively pursuing support for the construction of a playground. Their initial discussions with the Minister for Education at Full Council led to a commitment for funding. Although there were some setbacks along the way, NTCOGSO has been dedicated to following up on behalf of the School Council.

Thanks to the continued efforts of the past and present Nganambala School Council directors and the Principal Samuel Sailor, the school community and Traditional Owner Terry Sams, the playground (with the shade structure overhead) has been fully funded and built according to the approved designs.

When asked to sum up the process and outcome, Principal Samuel Sailor drew on the words of Walt Disney – the king of imagination – saying, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”

Nganambala School students are loving the opportunity to do all of the things a playground can bring; problem-solve, take safe risks, use imagination, cooperate, develop their motor skills, strength and coordination, build confidence and emotional regulation, and above all - have fun! They have certainly given it the 'tick of approval'!
